Opening of an entertainment center at the Modell site

Launch Family Entertainment will soon move into the former Modell's Sporting Goods building on 86th Street near Fifth Avenue.

The indoor entertainment chain offers trampolines, bowling, arcade games and food.

George Yacoub, general manager of the Queens launch center, said the owner of the Bay Ridge location intends to open before the end of the year, if not sooner.

“We know the Bay Ridge area has a rich history, so we are excited to open Launch Family Entertainment and share what we have experienced with all of our guests in Howard Beach, NY, here in Brooklyn,” Yacoub told this newspaper.

Modell's closed in 2020 after the company filed for bankruptcy.
